Easter tour through the windmill

Easter tour through the windmill

On Good Friday our windmill in Tündern opened for an Easter tour. In mild weather, visitors from the region came to see the inner workings of the restored mill.

A look inside

The tour led through the floors of the mill. On the ground floor are the millstones, from sandstone to runner stone and bedstone. Alongside them stand the wooden grain hopper and flour mixing machine.

The mill machinery

Higher up you see the gearing of the mill. Cogwheels and crown wheels of wood and cast iron mesh together. Through the windows there is a view over the rooftops of Tündern.

To finish

On the upper floor the illuminated “Windmühle” lettering was visible. Many visitors came to this first tour after the restoration.
