The time has finally come: the restoration of the historic windmill in Tündern has begun! Scaffolding is going up and the work is gaining momentum.
The Schedule
The restoration is being carried out in several phases:
- July 2025: Scaffold the mill
- Remove the old plaster
- Repair damaged masonry
- September 2025: Apply new plaster & fresh paint
- March 2026: Install the new blades
A Milestone
Thanks to the support of many donors and sponsors – including the EU, the Heritage Conservation Foundation, the City of Hameln and the Hameln-Pyrmont District – the historic windmill can finally be restored.
